Dot NAME Domains

Established in 2001, the .NAME universal domain name extension is the sole TLD supposed to be for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are popular by. At first, only 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to buy john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired 3rd-level domain names remained running.

Through our firm, you can order your dot NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to update the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization key from the current domain service provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. There are no special terms on who can purchase a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the goal behind its creation alive, the Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.
