A: When your current hosting provider can no longer satisfy the requirements of your website, or when you face constant downtime, or if you are made to wait for hours for the support staff to reply to you, it might be a smart idea to switch your hosting provider, i.e. to migrate all the files for your web sites together with your databases from your present provider to your future provider. At XLPages, we are aware that this can be difficult and time–consuming. For this reason, we’ll do all that for you for free!Our skilled technical team members will move your web site content from your present hosting provider to us. Our techs have broad experience migrating web sites and can take care of everything – from a regular WordPress–powered weblog or Joomla^™ CMS–driven website, to an extremely complex, custom–made web app.

A: While we can’t give you a precise ETA, because there are plenty of variables, among them the physical size of the files and databases, the location of the present host’s server, the complexity of your website and the current workload of our Website Migration Department, etc., we will give our very best to migrate your web site within 48 hours, and in certain cases – within 24 hours (in case the content is not very large).

A: We’ll require the login details for your current web hosting provider’s Control Panel and the web site’s name (domain name).

A: In order for us to start the migration of your account, you must already have an account with us. Opening an account with us will require that you to disclose literally the same details you have given to your current host. We’ve also got a very rigorous Privacy Policy, which specifies how delicate info is dealt with.

A: No. Your website will continue to be visible online during the transfer. Once everything is completed on our end, we will inform you so that you can examine it and check for problems. If everything’s fine, all you will need to do is edit your domain’s DNS resource records.

A: While we transfer your content, your hosting provider won’t be aware of the migration at all. We will never get in touch with them in any way.

A: We can transfer your site from any web hosting provider or any Linux–based hosting platform on condition that we can gain access to the Control Panel and there is File Transfer Protocol access available.The only web sites that we’re unable to transfer are the ones based on closed–source software applications like Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square and Mr Site.
